Mother! Mother! I am Sick! Call the Doctor Very Quick!

Throughout our lesson, I have come to realize that the presence of medicine is very important. Without it, we would be helplessly watching our loved ones suffer with illness. Before, I used to think that once a person is sick he/she should be brought to the hospital right away. But now I know that the cure to some illnesses can be found and given at home. This is very beneficial to people, especially ones who are unfortunate.

Administering medicine to our patients can aid in the prevention and curing of his/her illness. Medicines can speed up a person's recovery. It can also help you avoid getting sick in the future. Giving medicine is a very essential responsibility of a home nurse. It should be part of your patients routine.

So, to every home nurse or aspiring nurses and doctors, start reading about medicines. But always remember to ask for a doctor's prescription. If you just give your patients random medicines at random times, then it might cause him/her harm. Too much medicine can lead to overdose and might kill your patient. Be responsible.

Health & Care.

I think people will agree with me when I say that of all the things I hate, getting sick is number one. Even though illnesses have its perks (like being absent in school and work. getting cared for by everyone), the rest of the experience basically sucks. Imagine being stuck in bed, not being able to get up and have fun, and experience that disgusting metallic taste in your mouth due to medicine--its a friggin' lame and boring experience.

This is where health care steps in. I've always believed in the saying that "Prevention is better than cure". It is very important for one to maintain a healthy lifestyle simply because it helps him/her do everything she has and wants ti i without any problems. This will help an individual's family to save. In serious cases, this will help the community from acquiring illness from others.

We are responsible for our own body. Whatever happens to it will be blamed on us. So it is best if we take out health in consideration. Being healthy and active will play a big role in our future careers. It is also important to know that our life is a gift from God and, just like any other gift, we should treasure it.

Let's Start from Trash!

We were asked to make our own handicraft as our project last quarter. I searched over the net and found one project that attracted me. It was a picture frame made out of Styrofoam  One of my members also suggested to make a container out of plastic bottle bottoms. So our group decided to make both.

Luckily, we were able to make both products successfully. This project really helped me improve my art skills. I also plan to recycle more and create handicrafts from them.

We used the following materials:

  1. Recycled Styrofoam
  2. Poster Paint & Paintbrush
  3. Glue Solution
  4. Plastic Cover
  5. Card Stock
  6. Tissue Paper
  7. Rulers
  8. Cutter and Scissors
I added the final touches on the frame (paint, cover, etc..). I was really happy when we were able to create the frames properly and successfully. We plan to sell them for Php 15.00 each.

Half-Heartedly Thankful.

I didn't really put any effort in making my card at all. I just folded a pre-designed card stock, printed a pop-up template that I got on the internet, copied the lyrics of a random song, then glued everything.

It's really hard to do something like a thank you card for your parents if deep inside you don't really want to do it. But despite my little effort, the card turned out pretty well.

AN ARTY DREAM

An Aspiring Director's Dream

The contents of my drawing are pretty simple. I included a film strip, book titles, a camera, a director's chair, a cinema, and my dream school.

My interest in film making have developed throughout the years. I have spent most of my time searching for schools that offer Film and Television courses and I have discovered Savannah College of Arts and Design (SCAD). I consider it my dream school now and I hope to become one of the greatest filmmakers in the world.

Everything that you can see in my drawing are my interests, dreams, and inspiration. I really wish that in the future, I will be able to achieve them all.

Struggles

Javascripting, what can I say?

This topic has caused me to sit on my computer everyday while typing various codes that I I usually don't understand. Although this lesson helped me type faster, it still caused me a lot of sleepless nights and headaches. Imagine trying to memorize hundreds of codes and hosting a website all at the same time?! I now have high respects for webmasters and independent bloggers.

Javascripting helped me improve my other existing blog a lot. I've been able to add several new features that boosted the number of visits I get in my other blog. This made my efforts in memorizing the codes worth it.
